Summer 2019

Twelfth Night & Henry V at Shakespeare's Rose Theatre, York

'Music is always present in this production;

a fantastic band is on stage to provide a musical accent to a comedic moment, or a fully fledged song and dance. Composer Eamonn O'Dwyer outdoes himself with a perfectly pitched score'

Broadway World

'This is one of the best productions of Twelfth Night I've seen... and easily the funniest'

'Eamonn O'Dwyer's music is constantly apt'

York Press

''The director appreciates the dark side of nationalism; scenes in which the audience are encouraged to chant 'In-ger-lund' alongside the soldiers are deliberately discomfiting. A compelling production'

Mrs Beeton Says...

music & lyrics by Eamonn O'Dwyer

book by Helen Watts

Mrs Beeton Says… examines the life and legacy

of an extraordinary woman: a spirited journalist,

a tireless entrepreneur, and if not a perfect

homemaker, then certainly a queen of organisation.

In a world where a woman could not vote, own a house, nor even ride a bicycle, Mrs Beeton’s book gave the women of England something they desperately wanted: a bit of control.  Far more than just a cookbook, it was a manual for life; and as the wheels of British industry span faster than ever before, it became a lifeline for every maid and wife and mother trying to hold her ground in an ever-changing age.

'A witty, edgy score' - The Fine Times Recorder
